HealthX is delighted to share with you that we have announced the winner of the HealthX Nurse of the Year!

Jeema George from Tully Nursing Home in QLD has received first prize of $3000 winning the prestigious award out of 250 HealthX nurses Australia-wide.

Coming in a close second place was Shanty Joseph from Barclay Gardens and in third place Alpha Joseph at UCA Gerringong.

We would like to thank all facilities and nominating managers that got involved and nominated deserving HealthX Nurses.

We would also like to say a huge congratulations to all the HealthX Nurses that were nominated, and take this time to thank every one of our nurses for their hard work and dedicating themselves to the Australian aged care system.

Jeema was nominated by Tully Nursing Home, Director of Nursing Debbie Creagh for her commitment to quality outcomes for her residents and implementing a new pain monitoring plan.

The Tully Times Newspaper was so impressed with the concept of the award that they attended the ceremony and presented an article and photo on page 3! See the article here.

Jeema said on the awards day, that was held at the nursing home, that she was extremely proud to receive the award. “I would like to thank HealthX and the Tully Nursing Home team. I like to look after the residents here and consider them as part of my family.”

Director of HealthX, Derek Irwin who presented Jeema with the award said it was an immense privilege. “This is a great honour for the Tully Nursing Home and for Debbie, the Director of Nursing.”

“This is a great opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication our nurses put towards the Australian Aged Care sector.”

“The friendliness and excellent values of the Tully Nursing Home set the standard nation-wide and Jeema reflects those values in her excellent work.”

This award is a reflection of all the wonderful nurses that we have working for us and other aged care facilities across Australia.
