DSS Information Release

Information has just come through from the Department of Social Services: Accommodation price publishing: Publication of accommodation pricing information on the My Aged Care website – New Aged Care Provider Portal soon to be available to check and update price information.

The DSS has advised that they will be releasing information to Residential Providers shortly related to using the Aged Care Provider Portal to check, update, edit and submit information.

 If you submitted your final pricing information to Healthdirect Australia by Friday 9 May and it meets the legislative requirements you can:

Log in to the Portal from 9am Friday 16 May.  You can check the information you have submitted for your aged care homes and, if desired, update the information.  For updates to be published on 19 May you will need to make any changes by 8pm AEST on Saturday 17 May.

The Department has identified a number of areas where information submitted may warrant further checking by the provider and have listed these below to assist providers:

·    Inconsistency between room type and maximum occupancy for room

·    Use of default room names (all rooms submitted as ‘new room’)

In these cases the Department will publish the information as provided by the provider but is giving you an opportunity to quality check the information and make any appropriate changes.

If you submitted your final pricing information to Healthdirect Australia by cob Friday 9 May and it does not meet the legislative requirements:

You will be contacted directly by email prior to 16 May where we have identified that the information submitted does not appear to meet legislative requirements. You will have an opportunity to revise and resubmit your information via the Portal from 9am Friday 16 May.  For information to be published on 19 May you will need to submit updated information by 8pm AEST on Saturday 17 May.  In these cases the information will not be published until corrected.

If you had not submitted your pricing information to Healthdirect by cob Friday 9 May:

You will need to use the Portal from Friday 16 May to enter and submit your information.  If you do this by 8pm AEST Saturday 17 May then this will be published on 19 May.  Any changes submitted after this time will be processed and available on My Aged Care within 3 business days.
